The White House issued an executive order Thursday night instructing the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to prohibit federal funding to NPR and PBS.
CPB — a private nonprofit corporation — responded Friday morning stating it’s “not a federal executive agency subject to the President’s authority.”

Lawmakers have introduced AB 416, a bill aimed at safeguarding Nevadans’ access to materials in public libraries and ensuring the freedom to read and the freedom of library staff to manage library content without any political or ideological interference. The bill introduces criminal penalties for attempts to intimidate or harm others in relation to library materials in public schools, public libraries, library districts, and institutions of higher education. -
The bill would add certain street foods to the list of homemade food products that are sold and prepared outside of a commercial kitchen. The list includes corn on the cob, aguas frescas, or fresh cut fruit—street foods popular in Mexico and Latin America.
