Lawmakers have introduced AB 416, a bill aimed at safeguarding Nevadans’ access to materials in public libraries and ensuring the freedom to read and the freedom of library staff to manage library content without any political or ideological interference. The bill introduces criminal penalties for attempts to intimidate or harm others in relation to library materials in public schools, public libraries, library districts, and institutions of higher education. -
The bill would add certain street foods to the list of homemade food products that are sold and prepared outside of a commercial kitchen. The list includes corn on the cob, aguas frescas, or fresh cut fruit—street foods popular in Mexico and Latin America. -

The Nevada Division of State Parks is inviting the public to provide feedback on the draft Sand Harbor State Park master plan, which proposes several key improvements to the popular park. -

A bill in the California legislature would allow hunters to use trained dogs to pursue bears in certain parts of the state. Supporters say it’s a necessary tool for managing bear populations. But opponents, including those in Lake Tahoe, call it cruel and unnecessary.
