In an unprecedented move, the U.S. House voted to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
This action rescinds $1.1 billion in federal funding that had already been approved by Congress and committed to more than 1,500 public media stations across the country, including KUNR Public Radio.

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California received $3.4 million as part of a 5-year grant to improve the health of Lake Tahoe. -
The beach-cleaning robot, BEBOT, conducted its first full beach clean up in North Lake Tahoe. It was joined by members of the community, in a friendly competition between human and machine.
